Your data
Tempowatt runs entirely in your browser. This page lists which data leave it, to which services, and when.
In short
Tempowatt has no user accounts, sets no advertising trackers and does not measure traffic. It stores nothing you enter on its own servers.
What stays in your browser
Your settings — bike category, motor, weight, assistance mode, theme — are kept in your browser's local storage so they are there on your next visit. They do not leave your device. You can delete them by clearing the site's data in your browser settings.
Your location
The "my location" button asks for access to your device's location. It is only used if you click it, and the location obtained only serves to place the starting point.
Services used
The site serves its own font and mapping library. To calculate, it queries public, open services directly from your browser. Each receives what it needs, plus your IP address, as with any request on the internet:
| Service | What it receives | When |
|---|---|---|
| BRouter | Coordinates of the start and finish | On every calculation |
| Nominatim | The address text typed, or a point on the map | While searching |
| OpenStreetMap | The map tiles of the area shown | While browsing the map |
| Open-Meteo | Coordinates of the start | If you ask for the live wind |
The contact form
Your message is sent by email and is not stored in a database. Your address is only used to reply to you.
Your rights
Under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection, you can ask which data about you have been received, and ask for them to be deleted, by writing through the contact page.
